First time he received a summary report the machine said he voted for Bush. He had not. He voted for Kerry. States pretty anal guy and the buttons are not that close together. Told workers on-site of problem, but they were convinced it was his fault. He was able to correct the problem, but in doing so had to push the Kerry button several times. The new/final summary report showed he voted for Kerry and not Bush, but his concern is that there is a problem with the machine and is concerned about tabulation. Voter reports it was a 10th District machine. [P]

Many people (mostly immigrants) left the line and did not vote.

041162	11/02/04, 12:47 PM PST	Voter Intimidation	Bryant Center, 2709 Popkins Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306, Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virgina County, Virginia	Female with small child AGGRESSIVELY approached by a group of male teenage boys 15 feet from entrance to polling place and told to "vote for Bush." When she declined their sample ballot, they obstructed her way, taking over the sidewalk and delayed her from getting in. Then after getting through the gang of boys, she was approached by a middle aged woman even closer to the polling place entrance who was impersonating a poll worker who also lectured the female about how she should vote for the current president. These people are breaking the VA law that says that voters are allowed to wait up to 40 feet outside of a polling place without anyone attempting to influence their vote. When she left an hour later, the gang of boys and the woman were still outside harrassing and delaying voters within 15 feet of the door. She would like charges pressed.

Told him he would get his place back in line. Took him to a separate room and searched him. Made him empty his pockets. They asked him if he had a "clicker" on him. (He only had a cell phone, keys and his id with him). Delayed him from voting in the room and harrassed him. He was the only one pulled out of line. His friend, another black voter, is now worried about going to that polling place to vote - they both were on the line.
