He does know of Republicans that have received them.

She sent in her request for an absentee ballot 10 weeks ago and had not received it. She called the local election board two weeks ago who said she would receive it soon. She called today and they stated that they had still not prepared it and that the delay was because it had not been printed. She stated that her husband who is a Republican received his absentee ballot 4 days after he submitted his request. She had several other concerns about absentee ballots. She stated that on the absentee ballot, there are instructions written in very small print that states that the ballot must be completed with a number 2 pencil. She spoke to several older people that did not notice this when they completed their ballots and used ink. She noted that this requirement does not exist in Broward County. She stated that she called the supervisor of elections in Palm Beach County who told her that they were accepting ballots accepted in ink also. She was concerned because this is not stated on the ballot. She also stated that voters sign the envelope and not the ballot. She stated that the envelope does not require that voters use pencil and was interested in knowing whether she needs to use ink or pencil. She also stated that she completed and signed her husband's ballot before she realized that it was his. She is concerned that they will not accept this, but was told by the supervisor of elections that they will accept ballots that are signed by spouses, and that this happens frequently. She stated that this also concerns her because there is nothing that permits this on the ballot.

They said "You don't get to vote." Also said she would have to send it FedEx and she would have to borrow money. Mail came, it wasn't there.

Of seven machines, only two were in use at any time. The officer said that we must vacate all county property and could only stand on the sidewalk in front of the building. Since all cars went into the parking lot, we had no chance to aid anyone.

We registered complaint with Kerry lawyers and they followed up with clerk who spoke to worker. 4. Picture taken while speaking to a voter. Photographer was with AP. He took our names and names of voters. We gave him a Voter's Bill of Rights. 5. Also questioned by writer from Wall Street Journal. Told him about absentee voting problem and how resolved.

Voting already underway. Pollwatchers present from Kerry-Edwards and MoveOn.org. The line dwindled to 50+/- for most of the morning. By noon - no line. To all appearances, procedures ran very smoothly. No reports of any problems inside polling place through 12 noon. One or two third party reports of problems with absentee ballot issues that appear to have been satisfactorily resolved by poll workers. Exiting voters reported no problems. Received many anecdotal reports from voters of sognificant problems four years ago consisting of mis-alignment issues with older punch card ballots. Many reports of astonishment four years ago at the large total for Buchanan from a community not supportive of that candidate. No lines from 12 noon to 5pm. 5-10 voters per hour or so. 5pm-7pm, no lines, only a handful of voters. Poll closed at ___. We called in several times between 8 am and 11 am to report lack of perceived need to monitor the situation, offering to be reassigned but were told that four years ago there was a high incidence of reported problems with older people at this site. based on today's experience, this is a very highly educated community with very well trained poll workers. My biggest complaint was being sent out with a cell phone that ran out of minutes after maybe 5-6 calls back to HQ. Had we needed to rely on this phoen we would have been in serious trouble. I strongly urge you to rethink this policy the next time around.

Went to vote today and was told she needed an absentee ballot. 1 daugher in Eglin, FL; one son in Pensacola, FL. Mother sent daughter card she couldn't find so she didn't send his.
