Registered in downtown Portland with temporary registration table. Checked with county board, and they said I was not registered. Heard news story that Republicans hired people to solicit registrations and then threw away non-Republican reg forms. Believes she may have been a victim of this.

Caller reported contact with a person in Multnomah County, Oregon, who apparently submitted an application for registration through a person who asked for their party affiliation. The person who was submitting the registration form told the asking person their party affiliation, Republican. The person who submitted the registration forms, and friends who live in that area who reportedly have the same party affiliation, Republican, have still not received their ballots by mail. Oregon has a vote-by-mail system. Caller was unable to call back to the person reporting the problem. Caller said the person not receiving the ballot was very upset. Republican party left a voice mail Wednesday night encouraging "Amy & Craig Miller", registered Republicans, to vote. The voice mail indicated that Craig and Amy were registered at Kathleen's address and phone number, but there are no inviduals named Craig and Amy at Kathleen's address (and never have been). Ms. Miller is a registered Democrat and is concerned that "Craig and Amy" are fictional individuals that have been illegally registered at her address.

Husband registered when moved counties within Oregon at DMV in August or early September. Never received ballot. Called county election office. They said there had been a problem with DMV registrations and that he should get a provisional ballot from the election office. Husband went the election office several times, but the line was so long he was not able to wait and he was never able to vote. Caller has heard of many other people in Oregon having the same problem with DMV registration. Caller wanted to report problem.

Caller is with Oregon Action and has been registering voters. She states that only about 55% of those she registered are on the voter rolls. EP has called her back on 10/17 and on 10/21 in the afternoon at the first phone number (office), but could only leave message.

Contact emphasized this is second hand information. He received second hand information that at a temporary tent for voter registration, at a corner near Oregon State University, Democratic registrations were being thrown away. Contact indicates that he will call the Secretary of State.

Caller registered to vote for the first time at the DMV in Clatsop County. She never received a ballot (Oregon is a vote-by-mail state), and so she called the Clatsop County clerk's to inquire about what happened. She was told that her name was not on the roster and that they had had many similar calls from people who said they registered at the DMV but are not on the roster. (She also moved counties - from Cowlitz to Benton)
