Cuyahoga County. Forty-three of the county’s 573 voting places either failed to open on time or couldn’t get some or all of their electronic voting machines to work. Voters were turned away http://www.votersunite.org/article.asp?id=6749

43 polling locations had serious problems in Cuyahoga County, which is 6% of overall polls in the county. In Cleveland there have been reports of long lines, and poll workers struggling to get machines up and running.

Stark County. Diebold touch screens weren't working and votes were disappearing. In some polling locations, voters had to touch the screen as many as 15 times to get it to register a vote. voters were told they would have to vote provisional ballots, which aren't counted until 10 days after the election.

The same thing happened to his fiance, who was with him in line. Caller reported that the poll workers were aggressive and one said to him that she was "used to dealing with people like you." Also, the caller noted that the electronic voting machines were out in the open, with no curtains or barriers and that the voting screens were easily visible by others in the polling place.

He told her that she could cast a provisional ballot but it wouldn't count anyway. When she became upset and tried to insist on voting, he told her that they could "take it outside" if necessary.

Their names were similarly not on the roll sheets. They talked among themselves and discovered that each of them was a Democrat. Also, his ex-wife, who used to reside with him, was on the roll at the United Methodist CHurch, even though she has moved out to another county. He didn't know why shw was listed and he wasn't since he's been registered for years without moving.

Poll worker reported that appx. 115 ballots were cast. They were placed in an "emergency" envelope designed for use in an electrical failure. Poll worker reported that the ballots will be scanned at the Board of Elections. Poll worker also reported that the first 25 ballots did not scan correctly. [Voter identified above was EP volunteer]

He had four concerns: 1. machines were supposed to come shrink wrapped and the wrapping barely covered the machines. The tamper resistant seals on the memory cards were not tampered with. 2. One bag of materials containing paper canisters and additional tamper resistant seals was not sealed and a broken seal was found nearby on the floor. However, the open bag was enclosed within another larger, sealed bag. 3. He was also concerned about overstaffing at his polling place. Told at the training that there would be 1 tech person per 18-24 machines and at his polling site there were only 2 machines and 3 tech staff. Only 35 voters for that pollsite. 4. One machine was broken, but told that it would be fixed by tomorrow morning when the polls opened.
