Voter went to the polls. When he gave his ID and was looked up in the voting rolls, the poll worker told him there was a designation by his name indicating that mail sent to his address had been returned. However, voter's Drivers ID had the same address as the address in the book. Nevertheless, poll worker refused to let voter vote and did not offer provisional ballot. Voter called various hotlines, was told that he should be able to vote. Voter returned to the polls. Poll worker still refused and eventually relented to let voter vote PROVISIONALLY only. Spoke to voter's mother. Mother also indicated that in a prior election, she was disenfranchised because poll worker had taken a machine apart and when he put it back together it was not properly turned on, but they did not let her vote again... |
