Meantime, she gets a phone call from "Republicans for Bush". They left a voice recording, which she played for me. Sounds like the name was Nancy Mortiker (sp?) calling for Republicans for Bush. Messager told her where polling place was, driving directions, but was a different polling place from what voter card and mypollingplace states. Burke County. Unilect Patriot touchscreen machines register presidential undervotes in excess of 10% -- 1 in 10 people didn't vote for president. The machine is the same as the one that lost 4,400 votes in Carteret County, but officials think it was the screen/ballot design rather than a malfunction that caused the high undervote rate. Gaston County. The three-member Board of Elections discovered about 75 new votes in each contested race during the recount Tuesday.
